GROUP EXHIBITION, A HOME NEAR THE PRECIPICE - PAINTING PRACTICES IN FINLAND TODAY, GALLERY NAPA, ROVANIEMI, FINLAND, 2023

A Home Near the Precipice - Painting Practices in Finland Today was a project involving a series of exhibitions, seminars, artists’ talks, podcasts and publications focusing on the more unorthodox and inquisitive strand of contemporary painting in Finland. The project, curated by artist/curator Misha del Val, was aimed at invigorating dialogue about the current tone, status, capacity and potential of painting practices in Finland at present. The exhibition, held in Gallery Napa and Mustanapa, Rovaniemi, from 23rd of September to 17th of October 2023, presented the artistic work of seven artists living in Finland and working chiefly within the medium of painting: Anna Tuori, Camilla Vuorenmaa, Eeva Peura, Henri Hagman, Konsta Huusko, Liisa Karintaus and Reima Nevalainen.
