WHERE IS THE AFTERPARTY, TM GALLERY, HELSINKI AND TITANIK GALLERY, TURKU, FINLAND, 2008

In the fall of 2007, Vuorenmaa showed the exhibition Party in the gallery Rajatila, Tampere. In that exhibition, she depicted the celebration of life's various frontiers, escape from everyday life, loneliness and hedonism. At that time, the idea of another exhibition as a shoot after the end of the Party started to smolder in her mind. There are the continuations in this exhibition, but during the year the topic expanded into a whole that examines the whole of life. With the works and their spatial hanging, Vuorenmaa tried to create a journey for the viewer with passage and encounters. Every journey has a beginning and an end, but when it comes to the end of human life, the question of the journey is mysterious and open. The name Where is the sequel refers to the two, it brings up the possibility of the existence of the afterlife, but also doubts whether it exists. Continuations are usually asked when you don't want to accept the end of the party. The description of nature or the background in general became to be a new element in her works. In the past, she have focused almost exclusively on photographing people.

The exhibition as a whole is realized in a collage-like way. As materials, she used e.g. fabric, chipboard and foam.

Where is the Afterparty was an exhibition I made in two different galleries. Exhibition was open at Tm Gallery at Helsinki from 30th of July 7  to 17th of August 2008 and from 19th of September  to 12th of October 2008 at Gallery Titanik at Turku.
